What drew you to the real estate business? What do you love most about it?

I love being part of uniquely special moments in people’s lives.

Most people only move a few times over the course of their lifetime, so working as a guide to my clients during this process and providing an exceptional experience is what I love most about my work.

What do you love most about Colorado?

As a Colorado native, I love our state’s incredible climate and natural beauty.

We have great opportunity here, wonderful people, and few problems in comparison to many other locations. (Little mold, termites, hurricanes, the list goes on…)

How has the pandemic changed the Colorado housing market?

I believe homeowners have realized the importance of functional spaces and layout in their homes.

As we’ve spent the last year seeing more of our houses than before, the “right” house has been much more important for day-to-day life.

Also, many who “sat-out” last year have been surprised to see the increased demand and prices in our Denver market as we’ve seen a surge in migration from other states (primarily CA, NY, and IL).

What’s something you think all Colorado home buyers should know (but most don’t)?

The real estate process can be very complex with many pitfalls and liability.

Working with a reputable professional not only ensures you’re able to buy a home you love, but also helps you to avoid many of the issues that can make this exciting time of life a real nightmare.

If you could have lunch with anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?

My wife, Laura — I never get enough opportunities to have lunch with her. She is the love of my life and one of the most caring inspiring individuals I know.

She’s from New Zealand and grew up working on a farm there and raising horses. She has an incredible work ethic and has given up a lifestyle in one of the world’s most beautiful countries to be with me in Denver.

Laura is also an incredible mother to our little girl and identical twin boys (we have 3 children 2 and under).

What’s one of your favorite quotes?

“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”

This has been something I work to remember when I serve each of my clients. It takes a lifetime to build a good reputation and a mere moment to destroy it.

Anything else you’d like to share?

My company name “Circle J Real Estate” was taken from my family cattle brand as I grew up raising cows, goats, chickens, and bees as a kid.

It’s my goal to take the forgotten qualities of the “cowboy days” like honesty/integrity, hard-work, keeping your word, and competitiveness, and bringing those to the real estate industry (where they’re very often absent).

I’ve worked to develop an organized step-by-step system that ensures home buyers/sellers can get the best value in the shortest time, while enjoying the process along the way!

It’s been a joy to serve each of my clients, and I love my job!
